Redmi 13: Officially Official with a Monstrous 108MP Camera:

The Xiaomi Redmi 13 is official – officially, this time. A couple of days ago, a store in Portugal started selling the phone, even though Xiaomi hadn’t presented it to the world just yet. Anyway, let’s have another look at what makes this special.
This is the first model in the Redmi number series to feature a 108MP main camera. It is based on the Samsung ISOCELL HM6, a 1/1.67” sensor with 9-in-1 pixel binning, which also gives it 3x in-sensor zoom. Additionally, the selfie camera was upgraded to a 13MP sensor, up from 8MP on last year’s Redmi 12.

Faster Charging, Same Great Battery Life:

Another important change is the battery charging, which is now done at 33W. This is almost double what the 2023 model could do (18W). The battery capacity is essentially the same at 5,030mAh and can be charged to 100% in 62 minutes (in our testing, the Redmi 12 took twice as long).

Power Up Your Selfies:

The Redmi 13 is equipped with a spacious 6.79” LCD with FHD+ resolution. It runs at 90Hz like its predecessor. The brightness peaks at 550 nits and is controlled by DC dimming. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass, though Xiaomi didn’t specify which version.

108MP Camera Takes Center Stage:

The phone is powered by the Helio G91, which is quite similar to the Helio G88 that it replaces with one key difference – it supports 108MP cameras. The older chip topped out at 64MP max and was paired with a 50MP camera on the Redmi 12.
The phone comes in several configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB and 8/256GB. The base model starts at $180. And as we saw yesterday, in Europe, the base model is €200 (now discounted to €170). It’s available in four colors: Midnight Black, Sandy Gold, Pearl Pink and Ocean Blue.

Note that the phone has a microSD slot and can accept cards up to 1TB. Additionally, virtual RAM can expand the onboard capacity up to 16GB. And as the eagle-eyed among you will have spotted, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on top.

Finally, the phone is a bit thicker and heavier than its predecessor at 8.3mm and 205g (vs. 8.2mm and 199g). It has the same IP53 dust and water resistance as before.
